Day 37 - Cimmaron (45 miles)

With hangovers to rival Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum, us three weary revellers headed West, hoping to get to Montrose by night. The scenery remained impressive, with the road winding through rock faces and alongside mountain streams before ascending once again over Black Canyon. A great lunch stop at Elk Creek ended any hope of Montrose, but after 45 miles we were more than happy to arrive at the campsite at Cimmaron, decorated with signs of 'fresh baked pie.' Buffalo burgers and hot peach pie went down a treat, and when Parker made a campfire by the side of a babbling brook we had the distinct impression we had stumbled into an episode of Dawson's Creek. Another good day in the Rockies.

Finally put my hand in my pocket and donated to this more than deserving cause. Hope you're enjoying the Rockies... I'm sitting in an office in Piccadilly and it's raining, just to put things into perspective! Take care xxx PS you both look like cap'n birdseye's dodgy cousins xxx

I love that video you've put on and the photos are great. I'm doing a car boot sale on Sunday to raise some dollars for you...Joe remember when we did one a few years ago....it rained so much we ended up sitting in the boots of our cars and by mistake I sold your expensive leather jacket for £3!!! You're not missing anything at home...weather is miserable, wettest day of the year today..so just enjoy yourselves and this amazing experience. Love Han xxxx(Joe's sis)

Guys, first I will apologise for my lack of comments during your little road trip and I am bl**dy amazed at how well you are doing.
Second, are you getting chance to charge up i-pods regularly as I know how much Joe can struggle without a daily dose of emo rock and would probably have a fit if you took his best of banarama album away for more than a week, (not even mentioning Abba 'Gold') Again, great work guys, you have been the topic of many a conversation back here in the Big smoke and despite your moaning we are all jealous of what you are doing. Keep it up and I will buy you both a very well deserved pint (or several) of the black stuff when you get back to Blighty.

Thanks to my trusty use of the internet during lunch hour, I have kept myself amused once more by googling your new finds... Cougar Bar...

Cougar is a common West Coast euphemism for a forty-something woman who’s single, financially secure, and always on the lookout for relationships with younger men. The term is common pop-culture parlance, especially in bar talk.

"A cougar is a woman in her forties who generally smokes, drinks, goes to the bars, picks up young men and is financially independent, either because of a good divorce settlement or (because) she’s been successful in her own career. So, she’s not in financial need of these younger men,"

I think I might have just found my new goal in life, I might just make it to 'Cougar status' one day!! :-)

Keep peddling chaps, fantastic job and the money seems to be going up everytime I log on.

Now i've been nice I just can't let that photo pass without comment, I mean seriously... is the forest gump look essential??!!
